Written March 14, 1866, at Greenville, Augusta County, Virginia, by Mary Ann Bushong, (1827-1897), to a friend, Sophie Minnick (Knupp). Mary was the daughter of Abraham Bushong and Mary Christina Foland, brother, Peter (Valentine) Bushong, is mentioned in the letter.
